A Drip‑Proof High Voltage Wound‑Rotor Motor is a rugged three‑phase high‑voltage (HV) induction motor with a wound rotor (slip‑ring) design and a drip‑proof enclosure suitable for industrial applications where occasional exposure to moisture or falling debris is possible. The wound‑rotor configuration features insulated rotor windings connected through slip rings and brushes, allowing external resistance to be added to the rotor circuit. This enables high starting torque with controlled inrush current and improved torque‑speed characteristics compared to squirrel‑cage motors, making it suitable for heavy loads and large mechanical systems.
