HOUSTON, TX, UNITED STATES, October 01, 2024, Prismecs is excited to collaborate with the Auri-Avalon Group of Companies. Avalon BioEnergy Uruguay S.A, a subsidiary of Avalon Energy Group LLC, on the launch of a groundbreaking $380 million Agriculture-Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project in Latin America with the strong backing of the Uruguayan government.

This transformative project is set to drastically cut carbon emissions in the aviation industry and is a significant milestone in the transition to renewable energy.

The state-of-the-art biorefinery will integrate sustainable agricultural practices and cutting-edge energy technologies to produce SAF, reducing carbon emissions by up to 80% compared to traditional jet fuels. This initiative aligns with global efforts to decarbonize air travel while promoting economic development in Uruguay.

“This facility marks a pivotal step in achieving net-zero carbon goals, and we are grateful for the support from the Uruguayan Government,” said Irshad Ahmed, President & CEO of Auris-Avalon Group of Companies. "This project not only contributes to sustainability but also fosters local economic growth, positioning Uruguay as a leader in clean energy production."

The project includes a 100,000 MT/year SAF production facility and a 50 MW solar power plant to generate green hydrogen, a key component in SAF production.
